The facelifted Toyota GR Yaris has been unveiled at the 2025 Singapore Motorshow. Changes for this update include cosmetic enhancements and refreshes, as well as one rather significant difference to its drivetrain.

For the first time ever, buyers of the GR Yaris can now opt for an automatic gearbox. Or more specifically, the GR Yaris now has a new 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission, developed with input from professional rally drivers and motorsports experts.

The close-ratio gearing was designed to maximise the powerband of the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which sends power to all four wheels. With enhanced suspension tuning and reinforced chassis components, the GR Yaris is guaranteed to provide agility and stability across urban streets, winding roads, and high-speed circuits.

This isn’t Paddleshift’s first time seeing the automatic GR Yaris; we actually had a chance to check out the updated GR Yaris at the Tokyo Auto Salon last year – you can read more about the car here!
