Proton is back in Singapore! The Vincar Group is now the official distributor for the Malaysian automaker’s e.MAS EV brand. Their first local offering will be the Proton e.MAS 7, which will debut sometime in early 2025.

Proton e.MAS’ flagship showroom will be in Leng Kee, and this development marks a significant milestone in the brand’s regional expansion.

There’s no official word just yet on the specifications for Singapore-bound models. Malaysian e.MAS 7 cars will come with a 215 bhp electric motor, and a choice of two different battery options – a ‘Prime’ variant with a 49.52 kWh battery, and a ‘Premium’ variant with a 60.22 kWh pack. There’s little reason to believe a detuned, Category A COE-eligible car wouldn’t be added to the line-up at some point.

The former will do 345 kilometres on a single charge, with the latter being able to achieve 410 kilometres. Regardless of the model you select, they’d both achieve a 30-80% charge time of just 20 minutes.

On the inside, the e.MAS 7 offers a minimalist cockpit with a large infotainment screen and premium features in the Premium variant. The vehicle also features Meizu’s Flyme OS and Level 2 ADAS.

Our Malaysian friends have to pay RM109,800 (SGD 33,343) for the Prime and RM123,800 (SGD 37,596) for the Premium, with early adopters receiving discounts and a launch package including a free home charger.
