Mercedes has brought its global “140 Years, 140 Places” convoy to Singapore, marking the latest stop in a 50,000km journey spanning six continents and 140 symbolic destinations.

The initiative commemorates 140 years since Carl Benz filed the patent for the world’s first automobile. To mark the occasion, Mercedes sent three newly unveiled, facelifted seventh-generation S-Class saloons on a worldwide drive that has already crossed 20 countries and covered more than 35,000km.

Gardens by the Bay was chosen as the Singapore stop for good reason. Later this year, the German marque will open its Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore within the precinct, making Singapore one of only a handful of cities worldwide to host the concept. It will serve as a venue for product launches, community events and cultural collaborations, reflecting Mercedes’ evolving approach to customer engagement.

Visitors also got a first look at the new S-Class ahead of its local launch later this year, alongside a display of historic and contemporary Mercedes-Benz models. Together, the showcase highlighted the brand’s evolution over the past 140 years while reinforcing its “Welcome Home” philosophy of comfort, luxury and belonging.
