
MINI Singapore has unveiled not one, not two, but six separate variants of their latest generation of Cooper and Countryman models. And for the first time in the British marque’s history, there are all-electric offerings of their popular nameplates from launch.
For this latest generation of MINI cars, the brand has taken a more minimalistic approach to the restyling of these iconic cars. Dubbed ‘Charismatic Simplicity’, the design preserves the styling trademarks of these modern classics, whilst ensuring any fuss is kept to a minimum.

This means a preservation of the traditional MINI face – think large round headlights, along with cues such as short overhangs and a floating, colour-contrast roof. However, the cars have also gained several new design features. This includes a new octagonal grille, reimagined union jack tail lights, and in the case of the Electric, greater definition in its swage line.
At launch, three variants of the new MINI Cooper will be available. The combustion Cooper S, based on a heavily reworked version of the F56, is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged four banger that puts out 195 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.

The electric Cooper models are built on a bespoke EV platform for the very first time. As a result, better packaging means the cars can now go further on one charge. There are two electric Cooper variants for sale at the moment, with the Category A COE-friendly Cooper E packing a 40.7 kWh battery, which is good for a range estimate of 305 kilometres.
The spicer Cooper SE will come with a 54.2 kWh battery, which should return a 402 kilometre range on a single charge. The former will produce 148 bhp and 290 Nm of torque, with the latter making 215 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. The New Countryman
MINI also unveiled the all-new Countryman. It has put on quite a bit of weight and heft (it is now 130mm longer and 60mm taller), though this translates into greater amounts of space on the inside.

There is also some slight deviation from the traditional MINI design language in its styling, but not to the extent that it isn’t recognisable as one. Still, in doing so, the brand has made the car slipperier, with a lower drag coefficient than the outgoing car.
Like the Coopers, the Countryman will be available in three different variants at launch. There will be one petrol and two electric powertrain options. The Countryman ALL4 JCW will be combustion-powered, whereas the Countryman E ALL4 and the Countryman SE ALL4 are fully-electric.

But unlike the Coopers, both EV Countryman variants will come with the same 66.5 kWh battery, with range affected only by its power output. You may refer to the table below for detailed technical specifications.

All-New Interiors
All new MINI cars will have a completely revised cabin. You’ll only be able to find one screen in their interiors, which will display all of your infotainment and drive-specific needs. This round OLED display runs on MINI’s latest OS9 that packs a built-in voice assistant.
