Singapore is 61! And over the NDP weekend, we happened to have Audi’s all-new Q3 crossover as our press loaner. So what better way to show our appreciation (and a little patriotism) than by doing a road trip right here in Singapore?
And a road trip that properly pays homage to our nation, visiting a curated series of locations which we think best represents where Singapore came from, where we are now, and where we are headed towards.
For a country of only 744 square kilometres, Singapore actually has a surprising amount of nature, culture and heritage packed into it!
Woodleigh Park — The Singapore That Balances Past and Present

Bidadari is a place steeped in history. It was once home to a cemetery, which operated between 1908 to 1972, with the eastern end then becoming one of Singapore’s earliest Japanese-style gardens from 1930 to 1964.
HDB’s 2013 masterplan reinvigorated the region, with plans that include multiple residential plots (the final batch of BTOs were TOP-ed in 2026), as well as a modern homage to the historic Alkaff Lake.
It serves as a reminder of our unique ability to reinvent limited land whilst also preserving the spirit of what came before it. And doing so without sacrificing the flora and fauna that we live with!
Seletar Aerospace Park — The Singapore That Punches Above Its Weight

Spanning 320 hectares, the Seletar Aerospace Park houses rich heritage, advanced technology, and world-class aerospace operations. And it is all anchored by historical roots tracing back to its days as the largest British Royal Air Force base in Southeast Asia.
Today, this integrated hub hosts over 80 leading multinational and local companies, driving heavy-hitting activities from engine manufacturing and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) to global business aviation.
It also represents something Singaporeans have always been rather good at – taking on industries that seem far bigger than our tiny island. AND finding a way to compete at the highest level.
Marina Bay Sands — The Singapore The World Recognises

Marina Bay Sands (MBS)—perhaps the most recognisable icon of modern Singapore. But did you know that MBS is a fairly recent addition to our skyline? Fun fact – it was only opened in mid-2010.
Which meant that for the first two instalments of the Singapore Grand Prix, our skyline lacked this now-iconic sight (hard to fathom right now, right?). It has since featured prominently in the backdrop of our race, meaning when our friends at Audi go racing under the floodlights later this year, you’ll see it resplendent in all its glory.
This skyline represents the transformation of Singapore itself, evolving from a young nation with plenty to prove into one of the world’s most recognisable and forward-thinking cities. In many ways, it’s the ultimate place to reflect on how far we’ve come.
Jurong Innovation District — The Singapore That Keeps Moving Forward

As a nation, we have always been obsessed with progress. But finding a local spot that embodies this relentless drive quite like the Jurong Innovation District (JID) is rare.
Purpose-built from the ground up as a heavy-hitting hub for Advanced Manufacturing, R&D, and tech training, the JID is proof that Singapore is a nation that refuses to coast on cruise control.
Yes – no resting on laurels here. The spirit of the JID echoes the ultimate embodiment of our national ethos – look in the rearview mirror to see how far we’ve come. Then immediately get back on the throttle to power into tomorrow.
Four Locations. Four Very Different Sides of Singapore.
At the end of the day, a road trip across Singapore isn’t just about covering distance on a map. It’s about charting how far a tiny red dot has traveled.

From the historic, green-woven grounds of Bidadari, and the high-flying ambitions of Seletar Aerospace Park, to the gleaming, world-famous skyline of Marina Bay Sands and the relentless future-forward engineering at the Jurong Innovation District, our combined spirit proves one thing over and over again: we don’t just adapt to the times—we outpace them.
Singapore may have just turned 61, but if this year’s “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!” theme is anything to go by, we are certainly not done going beyond yet.
Side Note: Also, we will be publishing our full Audi Q3 review soon. Stay tuned for the full article! In the meantime, here’s our review of another current Audi model!
