Motorimage and Tan Chong Motor Sales have launched, or previewed, a combined total of three different new cars at this year’s Singapore Motorshow.
On the Subaru front, two new models were unveiled. The first was the Subaru Solterra XT. This is not a new car by any means – we first had a look at the Solterra in Singapore almost three years ago now.

But the cars bound for Singapore are the facelifted versions of the OG Solterra we saw in 2024. The range-topping XT trim itself was added to the line-up as part of the update, meaning the car now develops 338bhp. It also features a new 73.1 kWh battery pack, that will be good for a range of 436 kilometres. That is a not-insignificant 25% jump over the original Solterra’s range estimate.

Subaru also previewed the e-Outback, which essentially is a longer and taller variant of the Solterra, and that shares no mechanical relation to any prior combustion-powered Outback models launched previously.

On the Nissan front, the once hotly anticipated Nissan Z has finally made its local debut. The Z has been available through Parallel Importers for some time now, but this is the very first time that it has been made officially available through Tan Chong!
