What could most possibly be the most compact luxury crossover ever launched by any automaker in Singapore has just been unveiled at the 2024 Singapore Motorshow.
The Lexus LBX, mechanically based on the similarly-sized Toyota Yaris, joins the growing recent crop of premium automakers launching more affordable Category A COE options. Despite this, the LBX is a bonafide Lexus product, with quality materials used throughout the cabin, and Lexus’ interior design language applied liberally throughout the cabin.

There’s no spindle grille on the outside. Instead, you’ll find a stylised mesh grille and aggressive body lines defining this area of the vehicle. Together, the creases form the rough outline of the company’s signature front fascia design.
Global LBX models will come equipped with a 1.5 litre four cylinder engine and a hybrid powertrain. This combination is good for 134 bhp, and will be used to drive the front wheels. It is the first Lexus model to be built on Toyota’s TNGA-B front-wheel drive platform.

Despite its humble underpinnings, this is no rebadged Yaris. It is a proper Lexus, and has the interior quality, styling and user experience to match! No official word on local pricing just yet – we’ll update you as soon as this information is made available!
