Three concept cars have made their local debut at this year’s iteration of the Singapore Motorshow.
They are the MINI Aceman, Mercedes Concept EQG, and the Polestar Roadster. We’ll do an in-depth look into each car in this article!
MINI Aceman
This compact SUV has actually already been scheduled for production. The Concept has been built on the floorpan of a last-generation MINI Countryman, but production cars will utilise an all-new platform.

Obviously, you can expect the final car to sport less wild styling. However, the engineers we’ve spoken to have said that the interior is likely to make the transition to series production without significant changes.
Mercedes-Benz Concept EQG
This marks the South East Asian debut of the electric Gelandewagen. Mercedes has already announced plans to produce this vehicle, with a pre-production prototype unveiled almost simultaneously at CES.

The German automaker also claims that the aerodynamic lessons learnt in the creation of the EQG will also go into revitalising the exterior design of the ICE model, so expect a revamped version of that in the not-too-distant future too!
Polestar Roadster
The Polestar Roadster showcases what the Swedish brand’s future convertible would look like. It’d also be the Swedish EV manufacturer’s first cabriolet. This full-sized clay model was first unveiled back in 2022, and has a design that actually looks fairly production-ready.

Rumour has it that it’d officially see the light of day in 2026. It will become the company’s fourth new model in five years. No official word yet on technical specifications, but expect it to have up to 650 kW and 900 Nm from a dual-motor powertrain.
Strong Concept Car Showing
The fact that three car manufacturers brought concepts to our motor show highlights just how important the Singapore car market is, despite it being fairly small by global standards. Perhaps this is a sign that there’d be increased car variety coming to our shores in the not too distant future!
